なんともう20年以上前の曲なんですね…！ MVのUsherも少しあどけない。




そんなこの曲、いまR&Bファンの間で再び熱いのは、先日のnpr musicによる ”Tiny desk concert”で歌われていたから。

初期の楽曲ばかりやってくれて、昔からの音楽ファンには流涎モノです。

歌詞の内容はというと、彼女がいるのに親友の女性（しかも恐らく彼女と共通の知人）を好きになってしまったという曲。




実はUsher自身のほぼ実話で、歌詞の解説サイトGeniusでは、以前この曲について本人が以下のように語っています。

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Usher talked about the relationship issues that led to this song’s concept:
‘I was with one girl, but I had flown to Los Angeles and I fell in love with this other girl. And what was so odd about it is she started out as a friend, and was encouraging me to keep my relationship afloat. And then I’m like, ‘Well, shit, why don’t I be with you?’
