この曲は、個人的な恋の思い出も詰まった、大好きな一曲。

この和訳ブログを始めるきっかけも、

「こんなに素敵な曲の和訳がネット上に存在しないなんて…！それなら自分で書いてみるか…！」というものでした。

さて歌詞の内容ですが、サビで歌われる

let’s settle down

というフレーズは、日本語でもそう言うように「落ち着く＝結婚する」の意味でも使われます。

本編の歌の部分だけ聴くとひたすら甘々な内容ですが、冒頭のセリフ部分では

“I’ve been trying so hard to get over you（きみのことを忘れようと頑張ってる）”

と語られており、後半では

“Let’s forget about the past and think about the future (過去は忘れてこれからのことを考えよう)“

というセリフが入っているので、この二人は数年付き合ったのち一度お別れをしている。

だけど、離れてから「やっぱり忘れられない、自分の人生に必要なのは彼女だけだ！」と実感し、

晴れて復縁したら彼女が帰ってきてくれたことが幸せで愛しくてたまらなくて、

結婚しよう・ずっと一緒にいようという展開になった、2人のストーリーが感じられます。
